Notice to private candidate and elected home educated student (EHE) applicants to Haywards Heath College
We would ask that you ensure you have liaised with your registered centre to confirm whether they will be submitting a predicted grade for you to the exam boards this summer for the qualifications you are taking. You are able to transfer to another centre ahead of the grading process if your centre cannot submit a predicted grade for you.
Private candidates interested in working with a new centre should contact their exam board for information on centres approved to do so. Contacts for some of the major exam boards are listed below:
• AQA phone: 0800 197 7162 email: firstname.lastname@example.org
• OCR phone: 01223 553998 email: email@example.com
• Pearson phone: 0345 618 0440
• WJEC Eduqas phone: 029 2026 5000 email: firstname.lastname@example.org
If your registered centre is unable to submit a predicted grade for you, we will consider your application to enrol on individual courses by considering the following sources of evidence as appropriate for individual circumstances:
Results of any initial assessments set for you by the college in advance of your enrolment - this may include past paper exams conducted through Microsoft Teams.
Completion of any pre-set work for individual subjects for you which you are applying (you will be required to submit these in advance of enrolment and if so, will be contacted by our admissions team directly)
Completion of a free writing exercise and numeracy assessment (this would be completed in a time/date agreed with our admissions team)
Any reference materials from academic tutors that you can present to illustrate the progress you have made with Key Stage 4 studies.
Any work that you have completed that you can share with the college
The college's offer of a place on individual courses will be subject to a review of the evidence available. The evidence will also inform guidance to applicants of the availability of autumn series examination entries when more information is released by Ofqual and exam boards on their availability.
