Three Haywards Heath College students have taken part in the Youth Entrepreneurs Academy Haywards Heath (YEAHH), an initiative designed to empower future entrepreneurs.

Stephanie and Radiya teamed up to create a business idea around fusion desserts, called ‘Desert Alchemy’. Another student, Tanika, developed an idea for a travel business catering towards young people, giving top tips to help them travel.

The academy was launched earlier this year by Haywards Heath Town Council, and is designed to spark innovation, develop business skills, and provide real-world experience for ambitious local students.

Students who showed a keen interest in business or entrepreneurial skills were invited to put forward business ideas, with a total of five student-led businesses selected to join the programme.

Throughout the spring term, students attended a series of hands-on masterclasses delivered by seasoned business professionals from the Haywards Heath Business Association. These engaging sessions covered critical topics such as marketing, financial management, networking, and problem-solving.

They participated in an inspiring Business Fair held at The Orchards Shopping Centre. They carried out live market research and sold impressive numbers of their products directly to the public.

Paul Riley, Principal of Haywards Heath College, said:
“At Haywards Heath College, we are passionate about nurturing young talent and equipping students with the skills they need to succeed in the real world. The Youth Entrepreneurs Academy has been an incredible opportunity for our students to develop their business ideas, gain invaluable experience, and showcase their creativity.

“We are incredibly proud of Stephanie, Radiya, and Tanika for their hard work and innovation, and we can’t wait to see how their ventures evolve in the future.”
