COURSE OVERVIEW
The Cambridge Advanced National in Health and Social Care (Certificate/Extended Certificate) is a Level 3 qualification equivalent in size to an A Level. It aims to build applied knowledge and skills in health and social care, supporting progression to higher education and/or careers in related fields.
The qualification comprises six units, blending theoretical study with practical application:
Externally Assessed Units (Examinations):
Principles of Health and Social Care
Anatomy and Physiology for Health and Social Care
Non-Examined Assessment (NEA) Units:
Person-Centred Approach to Care
Supporting People with Mental Health Conditions
Two additional optional NEA units (to be confirmed)
This course provides a comprehensive understanding of health and social care principles, complemented by practical skills relevant to the sector.
FURTHER INFORMATION
You need a minimum of five GCSEs at 9-4, including grade 4 in English Language and a grade 4 in Maths or Science.
After completing the Cambridge Advanced National in Health and Social Care (Extended Certificate), students can pursue a variety of vocational pathways depending on their interests and career goals, or consider moving into higher education to pursue a career in a related field such as Social Work, Teaching or Nursing/Midwifery.
