Haywards Heath College to launch female football academy
Preparations are underway for the launch of Haywards Heath College’s Women’s Football Academy later this year.
After the success of the Men’s Football Academy and high levels of interest from students, the academy is set to open in September.
Trials for the academy are due to take place on Wednesday 15 February, between 12-2pm, at the Burgess Hill Academy 3G Pitch where all training and frequent fixtures will be taking place.
All year 11 and future applicants to the college are welcomed to the trials, whether you simply have a genuine interest in playing football or have years of experience.
Joining the academy will not only enhance technical and tactical performance within the football field but it will include expert coaching from professional UEFA B coaches, weekly football/futsal training and an array of regional and local fixtures.
Chris Day, Lead Football Academy Coach at Haywards Heath, said: “I am very pleased to announce the launch of the Haywards Heath College Women’s Football Academy and the opportunities this will bring our future students, and female players in the local area.
“Both myself and Sal Issa, our Academy Assistant coach, have high level experience within the women’s game, and are both excited to see this project launch for the 23/24 season”
