We Will Rock You! A High Energy Showcase of Talent and Showmanship

26 May 2026

Haywards Heath College’s student production of ‘We Will Rock You’ brought the Hub Theatre to life with a bold explosion of energy, attitude, and unmistakable rock and roll spirit.

Cast Performance of We Will Rock You

From the moment the lights hit the stage, and the opening chords rang out, there was an undeniable buzz in the room. The audience was immediately swept into the futuristic world of iPlanet, with a strong sense of unity between cast, crew, and band that carried throughout the performance.

With Queen’s iconic discography at its core, this is no easy show, demanding powerhouse vocals, sharp comedic timing, and captivating stage presence. The students rose to the challenge with confidence and flair, delivering each number with both precision and personality. From the rebellious energy of ‘Killer Queen’ to the emotional swell of ‘These Are the Days of Our Lives’; every song was performed with commitment and clear enjoyment.

Special recognition goes to:

  • Jacob Savva as Galileo for a charismatic and vocally impressive performance, capturing both the humour and heart of the role.
  • Carys Foulds as Scaramouche for their strong stage presence and emotional authenticity, particularly in quieter moments that grounded the show’s larger-than-life tone.
  • Joella Yeboah as Killer Queen for a bold, commanding performance that brought both glamour and menace to the stage.

They were supported by a talented principal cast including:

  • Freddie Sims as Khashoggi
  • Luca Cetti as Brit
  • Trinity Andrews as Oz
  • Jake Nickson as Buddy

The ensemble played a vital role in bringing the world to life, fully committing to every moment. High energy group numbers were a clear highlight, with tight choreography and strong vocals creating a dynamic and immersive experience.

The staging made effective use of the Hub Theatre’s space, with inventive set pieces and lighting design helping to establish the show’s dystopian setting. Costume choices embraced the show’s signature rock aesthetic, adding layers of personality and visual impact throughout.

Under the direction of Yvonne Jones, the production showcased clear creative vision and confident leadership. Her direction brought cohesion, flair, and momentum to the performance, drawing out strong, energetic work from the cast and ensuring a compelling, high-impact interpretation of the show.

Reflecting on the production, Luke Scattergood said:

“It’s been fast paced, the students have tackled every second with bite, energy and gumption. They’ve been phenomenal and it’s the reason I do what I do.”

This production was brought together by a dedicated staff and student technical team, whose work behind the scenes ensured a smooth and polished performance. Praise goes to the live band, who delivered Queen’s legendary score with precision, providing a driving force behind the entire show.

  • Musical Director/ Keys – Kim Sheldon
  • Drums – Fran Taylor
  • Guitar – Louis Parsons & Ava Scullin

The commitment from everyone involved (onstage and backstage) made this production not only entertaining, but a true celebration of individuality, creativity, and the enduring power of music.
