At Haywards Heath College you can study A Level English Literature and A Level English Language & Literature. If you love reading, analysing texts and discussing ideas, and you’re aiming for an English, humanities or communication-related degree, these A Levels are an excellent choice. GCSE English Language is also available.
Supporting your studies
English at Haywards Heath College is taught in small groups, combining close reading and analysis of set texts with your own analytical essays and creative responses. You’ll be supported to develop the independent reading and critical-thinking skills universities look for.
Teaching styles
Formal lessons are combined with discussion, group work, task- based learning and research activities. It is also expected that students will work independently outside lessons.
