COURSE OVERVIEW

This engaging course introduces you to key sociological concepts, theories, and research methods. Topics include:
Education: Why do some students perform better than others? What’;s the impact of social class and gender on achievement?
Families: How have family structures changed over time? What roles do families play in society?
Crime and Deviance: Why do people commit crimes? How does society respond to criminal behaviour?
Social Stratification: What causes inequality? How do factors like class, gender, ethnicity, and age shape opportunities in life?
Research Methods: Learn how sociologists investigate real-world issues using surveys, interviews, and case studies.

FURTHER INFORMATION

The entry requirements for this course are 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 including English and Maths. Please note this course must be studied alongside GCSE Citizenship Studies, the Level 2 Higher Project, plus GCSE English and Maths if not already achieved at a grade 4.
