It is suitable for people who enjoy languages, different cultures, and communicating with others, and who want to develop their practical speaking and listening skills for use in real-life situations. The course is ideal for those planning to travel to Spanish-speaking countries and wishing to become more independent and confident while abroad.
No formal qualifications are required. Learners should be able to understand and use simple Spanish phrases and sentences before joining the course. While the course is primarily for personal interest and recreation, it may also benefit those whose work involves travel, customer interaction, hospitality, tourism, or international communication.

Learning takes place in a relaxed and supportive classroom environment with a strong emphasis on practical communication. Sessions include tutor-led explanations, group activities, paired conversations, listening exercises, role plays, and interactive tasks based on real-life holiday and travel situations. Learners will have regular opportunities to practise speaking and listening, build vocabulary, improve pronunciation, and develop confidence using Spanish in everyday contexts.
As this is a recreational course, there are no formal examinations. Progress is assessed informally throughout the course through participation in class activities, practical speaking tasks, discussions, listening and reading exercises, and feedback from the tutor. Learners will be encouraged to reflect on their own progress and will receive guidance on areas for further development, helping them to build confidence and communicate more effectively in Spanish.
