COURSE OVERVIEW

This exciting and thought-provoking course combines the best of Sociology and Citizenship Studies to help you understand how society works, why inequalities exist, and how communities change over time. You’;ll explore key sociological ideas, major social issues, and the foundations of democracy while developing practical skills to investigate real-world problems.
Through topics such as education, families, crime, inequality, and global citizenship, you’;ll learn how social structures shape people’;s lives and how individuals can influence decision-making at local, national and global levels. With opportunities to study research methods, understand the law, and take part in your own social action project, this course builds the confidence, critical thinking and teamwork skills needed for future study and careers in fields such as law, public services, education and the social sciences.

The entry requirements for this course are 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 including English Language and Maths.
