A Day of Discovery: Haywards Heath College careers fair connects students with exciting futures
Staff and students at Haywards Heath College were delighted to welcome exhibitors to their annual Futures Fair packed with opportunity and great conversations.

Around 300 first year students took part exploring the stalls of more than 30 exhibitors from a wide range of industries with representation from multiple universities, colleges, local employers, apprenticeship providers and supported internship provider, Woodlands Meed, for students on EHCP.
Employers visited from a variety of professions including eye care, childcare, health and social care, estate agency, digital media, finance, insurance and STEM.
Students were able to speak with guests and join interactive activities and talks.
One highlight was Currie & Brown, joined by former Haywards Heath College student, Josh Webster, (Economics, Law and Business), who is now completing a surveying apprenticeship in constructions project management.
Employer, My Choice Homes, shared opportunities for 18 to 21-year-olds through its apprenticeship style roles, supported by its CACHE registered training centre.
The college also hosted a total of nine insightful talks throughout the day, giving students the chance to learn more about different career paths, these included:
- University of Sussex – student ambassador discussing university life
- Haydenswan Eyecare – Founder, Claire Haydan, inspired three students to visit the practice for an insight into an optician’s working day
- Spinal Health – Health & Social Care and Sport students received free posture checks
- Corn Cobs – Jeremy Jacobs delivered a popular session for Digital Media, Business and Art students
- Edwards – one of the most engaging stalls, offering VR experiences and STEM career insights
Ben Frier, Vice Principal of Haywards Heath College, said: “This year’s careers fair was buzzing with energy. With more than 30 universities and employers joining us, it was fantastic to see such strong support for our students and our wider community.
“Our exhibitors, from local businesses to national brands, took real time to inspire young people, open their eyes to new career paths, and share what their industries are really like.”
It was exciting for visitors to also see the incredible creative samples from Northbrook College, in promotion of the Level 4+ Creative courses.
